Kevin Selby is the keyboard player for the Baja Blues Band, at least that's what it looks like on stage. But Kevin is actually our "man behind the curtain," also playing all the bass parts with his left hand, which appears to have a mind of its own. He also "plays" all the drum parts, expertly adding fills, frills and big endings with deft movements of his hands, like a wizard, never interupting his killer piano chops in the process. Kevin also shares lead vocal duties, and adds sweet harmonies on the fly. He was trained in classical piano from age 6 to 16. (Thank GOD for parents who refuse to let their children quit piano lessons!) He then moved into Big Band jazz and jazz choir in high school and also played in contemporary rock & roll/country bands during that time. During college, he focused on original vocal music and played in jazz fusion-type combos. Once out of college (and into the REAL world!), he became a Christian and devoted his life and music to serving God. He has produced numerous solo albums geared towards helping people relax and spend a few moments taking stock of their lives, their relationships, and their own souls. You can find his solo work at KevinSelby.com. Although he has mainly been known as a jazz, or new age, or even classical player, his work with the Baja Blues Band rips!
