His sax work speaks for itself, but ya gotta hear this cat play blues on a flute (watch out Ian and Jethro!) and for a guy who says he "can't play" blues harmonica... well, I ain't heard too many guys who can top his chops!
Greg was born in 1960 in the San Francisco Bay Area. At age nine, he started his musical journey playing saxophone and then began the study of instrument repair at fourteen. Greg’s high school and college years were filled with musical studies in theory, composition, improvisation and technique. He was enriched by the private instruction of well known musician Matt Schon, performer, arranger and composer. At twenty, Greg became a professional musician and repair technician. He now resides in central Washington, working and performing there as well as the Spokane area. Greg has been playing sax and flute for forty years with the last twenty-nine as a professional musician. Among his credits are three years recording and performing with Grammy winner Weaver Copeland of the “Modern Aires,” two years as a staff musician at Small D.O.G. Records in Sonora, California, two years on call for Vertigo Records in Arnold, California and numerous commercials for radio and television.
While touring from Alaska to Florida, Greg performed in clubs, concert dates and studio work. He has played in and provided recorded sound tracks for several musical theatre productions. Greg has appeared in two feature films; “Back to the Future III,” (Universal Pictures), and “Last of His Tribe.” (HBO Pictures).
